A glue gun is a universal tool in the arsenal of a home craftsman. The consumable material of such a gun is a glue stick (sticker). Let's deal with the technical characteristics. Gun functions and choice of sticks A glue (hot glue or hot) gun instantly glues parts together using a special polymer. This compound hardens very quickly within a few minutes. After that, a very strong seam is formed (an important point - the surfaces of the parts must be cleaned of grease and moisture). Hot glue guns can handle wood, plastic, metal, ceramic, glass, paper, fabric and leather parts. The basis of a hot glue gun is a glue stick. Spare rods can be stored at room temperature for a long time - they do not lose their performance characteristics. They are very economical to use and easy to operate. A glue gun with consumables can even be used for children's creativity. Temperature regime of use Most rods melt at 100-105 degrees Celsius. Some glue guns heat the rod to 200 degrees - the glue does not lose its characteristics. If the glued parts will later be exposed to heat, you should choose high-temperature glue. When buying, always compare the melting temperature of the sticker with that for which the heat gun is designed. Also consider the place of application. Most operations with a glue gun do not require special knowledge. You only need to be careful of the possibility of getting burned by hot glue and use stands made of non-flammable materials, as well as protective covers for the gun nozzle.
