Description

Cold welding is a means of gluing metal, plastic, wood and other surfaces. A technological process in which surfaces are firmly connected to each other as a result of directed pressure and deformation without increasing the temperature. The connection occurs at the level of molecular bonds. Seams remain on the surface, as after hot welding.

Application area:

elimination of leaks in pipes, metal containers, radiators;

connection of wooden parts, etc.

Before gluing metal parts, their surface must be completely cleaned of any dirt and saws. After that, they must be degreased with any available means - solvent, alcohol. Separate a small amount of material from a piece of cold welding and knead it with your fingers until a homogeneous mixture. The finished product acquires the structure of plasticine. Apply the kneaded material to the place where the parts are connected and secure with a clamp. The pipe can be tightly twisted into a tourniquet and left for an hour.

During this hour, the weld will become hard and can be further processed. The residual adhesive will harden in a day. The adhesive loses its properties at 150 C. The resulting mass must be used quickly, within 10-50 minutes. That is, if a large amount of repair work is to be carried out, it is better to use the weld in small batches, otherwise it will dry out and will be unsuitable for use.
